Overall I really like the look of the product but I have a couple concerns. The seal does not fit properly. There are two bulges in the seal and they will simply not stay down no matter what i do. Bestop says each year jeep used different seals and their product can't work perfectly with all of them. I would prefer to see the list of model years from bestop that this top fits perfectly. I could then make a better buying decision. The top also had a couple thread pulls on the top where the fabric was stitched. It is not a big deal but for the price of this top I expect better.

Installation Jeep Wrangler 4 door hard top was painful. It is not difficult or impossible, just painful. The videos are a real laugh. Everything aligns perfectly first time and screws right in. In my case nothing aligned up easily and everything had to be pulled pushed or squeezed to make it work. As for the numerous review comments concerning short flanged screws, I too initially had this same problem but found an easy solution.

With the two knobs loosely installed on the rails, I raised the Jeep Wrangler hard top deck assembly and moved it towards the front just like you would close it and the weight shift to the front of the supports instead of all the weight resting on the back aligned the holes perfectly and they screwed right in without a problem. No need for longer screws.

The bottom line question is would i buy it again. I am undecided at this point. It looks good and did eventually assemble okay but the potential water leaks with the seal bulges are going to be a real issue. I will probably let it sit out in the rain or get out the waterhose before i make the final decision on it. It is also probably just too much trouble to take off to return anyway. This top is a great idea and Jeep should have made it an option as part of a Jeep Wrangler hard top and sof top.

Reviews

First, do as the instructions recommend and unfold it in the sun for half an hour or so. Place it on a sidewalk, driveway or patio for even extra heat. This will soften up the material and partially smooth out the fold creases. Next, start at the back rather than the front as the instructions state. This allows a bit of give when stretching the bungees around the rear roll cage bars.

Some reviewers stated they could barely stretch the bungee cords and one even mentioned his broke while installing the back. My guess is they did the back last and had no slack to play with. Installing the back first solves this issue. Make sure the bungee wraps around so that the ball is behind the seat belt guide assembly attached to the roll bar (see pic below). You will have to stretch the bungee pretty hard but it isn't impossible. After attaching both rear sides the shade will be pulled back too far but that will be corrected next.

This next step is easiest with a second person helping. Pull the shade up and over the sound bar and towards the front visor area. Have your helper stand in the cargo bay and grab both sides of the shade that you just connected. He/she should pull it forward stretching those bungees and giving you some room to play with up front. Run a short bungee through the second eyelet from the edge. Pull, stretch and attach to the freedom panel "U" catch.

Move to the other side and repeat same procedure. The middle portion has two eyelets close together. Choose the one that is closest to that "U" catch and use it. It will be off center but still works without causing any folds or awkward positioning of the shade. (pics) These front three are designed to be off center from the "U" catches. They allow you to attach the freedom panels while keeping the cords off to the side and out of the way.

Next move your way around the Jeep Wrangler 4 door and attach all the remaining bungees. They all go on tight but not difficult. Make sure you position all the balls in a manner that they are out of the way for visor operation and reinstalling Jeep Wrangler hardtop or soft tops.

If you are looking for a UV shade for your Jeep Wrangler 4 door you found it, just get this one, this things is seriously rugged and tough and it really looks great, heads will turn. The attached bungie-style bar wraps keep this nice and tight and does fine at speed so there is no issues with wind. You can just keep it on if put your hardtop back on and then it will cover the freedom panel area as well.

In Florida there are many opportunities to go topless but the sun makes it so unbearable. This shade is perfect. A perfect fit for my Jeep Wrangler 4 door tops and it strikes the perfect balance between letting in the breeze and some sun while blocking a ton of heat and it does not flap in the wind going down the interstate.
